Many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions; there are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!
Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, so long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).
FutureGrind (@FutureGrind)
FutureGrind is a game all about skill, tricks, and speed. We think it’s a bit like Uniracers meets OlliOlli. The game is played on a track made of rails that run through a 3D environment: some rails are blue, some are red, and some are white.
Seventeen Uncles: A Pug’s Life (@SeventeenUncles) [Kickstarter]
You star as Kirk the pug, a happy family pup and Grub Relations Executive in the local bee-run honey factory whose life is turned upside down when a deal with the Devil goes horribly wrong following the death of his darling wife Dilys. Your quest to win back her soul takes you to amazing locations such as a tattoo studio run by an octopus, a rocket launch site manned by an axolotl astronaut and a massive termite mound cut off from the rest of the world since the end of the great war with the ants. These and dozens more locations are populated by crazy characters such as occult armadillos, pub crawling sloths, stink selling bats, taxi driving dung beetles and many many more.
Stargazer
When stargazer Zach watches the sky one night, he sees a star fall and land in the nearby woods. He rushes to check it out, only to find that out the star was actually a girl, and with her, magic returns to the world.
Nephil’s Fall (@Nephils) [Kickstarter]
Exordium Games wants to bring you “Nephil’s Fall” – an epic 2d fantasy platformer with metroidvania gameplay, several unique mechanics, beautifully illustrated interactive environments, a deep story-line and great replayability potential.
Detective Di: The Silk Rose Murders (@nupixo) [Kickstarter]
Amid lingering political turmoil, the first and only female empress of China, Wu Zetian rises to power. Within months of her ascension to the throne, murmurs of discontentment and revolution swell as detractors and enemies begin plotting against her. It is against this backdrop that our protagonist, newly appointed investigating magistrate Di Renjie, must solve a gruesome series of murders–which will lead him on a collision course with the Imperial court and the empress herself.
Slain! (@SlainWBG) [Kickstarter]
Bathoryn must battle his way through a doomed land packed with gruesome pixel art foes before ascending (or sometimes descending) each tower, defeating puzzles, traps and monsters alike. At the heart of each tower, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely – mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades. And you will fail…..
Systematic Immunity (@FelixWun1986)
Systematic Immunity is a challenging precision platformer set inside the human body…and not a particularly healthy one either. You control the body’s white blood cells to fight off an infection that is being spread throughout the body’s organs by a particularly nasty germ. In each level this germ will produce 15 smaller germs that have to be taken out by your white blood cells.
Klang (@Tinimations)
Where previous games in the genre has mostly focused on pressing buttons in correct timing with the music, Klang expands upon this with adding the flair of exploration, platforming and combat. Klang is designed around the philosophy of merging dynamic world exploration with the adrenaline rush of becoming one with music through acting upon audiovisual queues.
Light Fall (@BishopGamesStd)
Jump into Light Fall’s universe and explore the Forgotten World of Numbra, completely shrouded in darkness. Afflicted with severe amnesia, you will have to travel across this strange land in a quest to uncover your mysterious origins. Along the way, you will investigate the many regions of Numbra, face deadly challenges and meet outlandish characters, be it friends or foes.
Withstand: Apotheosis
is a platform puzzle game with some combat heavy sections and minor adventure game elements. Konoci Mineta is an orphan living in a slightly Steampunk-inspired world, populated by honorable shapeshifters, obnoxious elves, and the occasional insane dictator. Use her wind magic as she embarks on an epic quest to get ingredients for a smoothie.
