It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!
Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, as long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).
Bik
In Bik, we follow a young boy who is abducted by aliens while on a camping trip with his friends. After joining forces with two friendly alien mercenaries, Ammut and Tatenen, Bik escapes from his abductors and tries to find his way home. Along the way, Bik and his newfound friends outsmart hijackers, (eat some brownies), accept a perilous mission to find a missing alien, (make some sandwiches), foil a dastardly plot by an evil corporate empire, (argue with disgruntled robots), and save a planet on the brink of destruction.
Four Sided Fantasy
Four Sided Fantasy is a puzzle platformer about thinking beyond the borders of the screen. By freezing the screen, players can fold space by turning on screen wrap at any time to solve impossible problems. On their journey, players will use this power to explore the world of Four Sided Fantasy. Players take the role of a businessman insistent on breaking out of his seemingly endless office life. After being sent on a business trip to a small town, something seems off…
Narcissus
Narcissus is the perfect game to put any healthy relationship to the test. A platformer in which you, the player must control two characters simultaneously with two different keys moving through increasingly mind-melting levels. All to a smorgasbord of electronic music.
Deity Quest
Deity Quest is a light-hearted, pokemon-inspired RPG where you play as an ambitious young god, recently assigned to a world – Aberos – to convert followers and gain power. Your goal is to become the Overgod, the highest position among the many gods of Aberos. Develop your divine magic, support your followers in fast-paced 6 vs. 6 battles, adventure through locations, and compete with other deities in your quest to reach the top!
AdvertCity
Explore a massive city, and plaster your adverts all over it. Float around cyberspace and get paid for posting links online. Make your mark on a complex economic ecosystem, direct the future of the city, and cunningly work your way to the top. The city will start out small and will grow based on how you choose to advertise. Make it grow by advertising for the housing and construction megacorps , make your money and keep them happy by selling music, booze and other… entertainments.
Rehearsals and Returns
Games let us explore all sorts of fantasies, and Rehearsals and Returns – as both a pensive platformer and inexplicable matching game – lets us ponder the shortest of exchanges, including the ones we cannot revisit. These days modern media lets us share all of our thoughts, but what would you say if no one was listening?
Ghost in the Machine
Ghost in the Machine is a retro indie game featuring tough as nails puzzle-platform action and 1980s-style graphics and sound. Your goal is to escape from a dark, abandoned factory without getting crushed by pistons, impaled by spikes, or falling to your death. The game is pretty tough, but it teaches you everything you need to know in the first few levels.
Dead Years
This is not just another zombie game. It’s a rework of the genre where you have to work as a team with the only friend you have left, your dog!
Popup Dungeon
The game play is something like Final Fantasy Tactics or X-Com meets a Dungeons and Dragons board game. It’s turn-based and the movement is handled on a simple grid. While Popup Dungeon will not be “twitch-based” or require lightning reflexes, we hope to make the action as lively as possible, with fast-paced, decisive combat.
The Loner
It’s not like most adventure games, you always maintain control over the character with your keyboard, no mouse-klicking required. It includes slow and calm parts aswell as action-packed and thrilling parts. It’s very important to me to create the best possible Gameplay experience, so there is no confusing HUD, and except for important objects and blood, the entire world is black and white.
