[Update: Greenlit] Stuck In Greenlight Limbo: ‘Alien Blitz’

[Update: Greenlit] Stuck In Greenlight Limbo: ‘Alien Blitz’

This time the spotlight will be shining on Alien Blitz, a top-down lots-of-guns-and-ammo shooter on an island… overrun by monsters. What say we help it escape the cold emptiness of Greenlight limbo, eh?

You play a soldier resting on his native island, but it is quickly overrun by monsters from outer space and no outside help is available. You put on your mecha armor, take your shotgun and go to find out what happened at the peril of your life.

Ah, I like these odds: one man in mecha armor and his gun(s), against… everything. Everything! Trust no one. Shoot first, ask questions later. Yup, my kind of situation for sure, although I’m not entirely sure as to how he’s able to exchange currency for upgrades. I mean, if the place is overrun by monsters, who – or what – runs the local ‘pimp my shooter’ shop? One of the monsters, perhaps? Yeah right! Well, whatever the case, I do like the fact that the game features a level editor which lets you share creations online. Always nice. So… fun, fast-paced, frantic – all or none of the above? We’ll see, come launch.

So riddle me this, dear reader: why is Alien Blitz still struggling to get through Greenlight? It’ll be out soon-ish, after all. As such, how about visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’, if you like what you see? Remember, your vote matters!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
