An inheritance is never a good thing in the slightest, as it involves the passing of someone close (more often than not, anyway). Guaranteed bad news bears right there. But in Stardew Valley there’s no time to mourn your grandfather because someone has to turn his old farm plot into a proper farm, transforming an overgrown land into fields full of valuable crops. Fun, albeit rough, times ahead!
Won’t be any freshly plucked strawberries or newly dug-up potatoes for a good while though, as first, you’ll need to make room for everything, cutting down trees and what-have-you. Manual labour – gotta love it. But then, once that’s taken care of, the fun can begin, and not just on the farm either.
See, aside from the local community, which sports a wealth of activities – including seasonal ones – for when you’re in the mood for fun and games, there’s also a cave ripe for spelunking. Who knows, maybe you’ll stumble upon something for the local museum in its depths.
Alternatively, how about dedicating a day to a fishing trip, try and catch dinner? Oh, and you’ll be able to upgrade your tools as you go along to ease the workload (and who wouldn’t want that?). Last but not least… family.
Stardew Valley can be acquired from Steam, GOG.com, and Humble, carrying a $14.99 price tag.
