Poor Smushi. Being lost and confused in a large, unfamiliar forest must be absolutely terrifying for the poor mushroom protagonist in Smushi Come Home. But perhaps the road ahead isn’t as dire as it might seem at first glance, for who knows what adventure(s) lie ahead, or what manner of forest creatures Smushi might meet on this journey? Who indeed.
Now, while getting Smushi back home is of the utmost importance, Smushi Come Home isn’t exactly one of those 3D platformers that force players down a linear path until the credits roll. Quite the opposite, in fact, as exploration is not only possible but downright encouraged. After all, who’d leave even a single stone unturned amidst such sprawling nature?
Play as a flipping MUSHROOM!!
Whether Smushi is gliding through the air, chatting with the locals – some of which just might be in need of assistance, too – or traversing large bodies of water on the back of a creature many times its size, or delving into the deep blue – there’s seemingly rarely a dull moment, mayhaps not even time to stop and worry about the current situation.
Let the good times roll and let the mushroom have its fun, just don’t forget to, at some point, help Smushi Come Home.
Smushi Come Home is available on Steam and Switch, for $19.99.
