I miss the 1980s. I really do. Some of the best music and movies came out during that decade. Heck, 60-70% of the music I listen to in 2022 is from either the 1970s or the 1980s! That said, suppose I’d do well to explain why that’s relevant to Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! while I still have your attention. So, wanna help a bear bring glam metal back to a world where it hasn’t really been a thing for several decades?
No? Then I’m honestly not sure how much fun you’ll have with this game. Yes? Ah, bless your soul, dear reader with impeccable musical taste! Now, ‘middle-aged teddy bear putting the band back together to revive a dead and buried genre’ might sound like a bit of an odd idea for a point-and-click adventure. I mean, this particular genre – glam metal – is gone, and bringing it back is not going to be easy. Not one bit. Oh right, I suppose… a talking bear… is also rather odd. Just roll with it. Maybe rock a little too. Get it? Rock, roll? I’m so clever!
When one of the least successful bands in hair metal decides it’s time for a comeback, no one is safe.
So step into the (metaphorical) shoes of a talking bear to join him (and his band), denim vest, bandana and all, and get ready for… let’s see… rehearsing in mouldy basements? Playing support gigs for no money?! Goodness! Okay. Let’s take a moment to calm down. I’m sure it’ll be great, just have to push through the rough beginning to get there. After all, Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die!, even if someone has to bring it out of hibernation every few decades. Yeah. Never dead. Just resting.
Adding to all that, when was the last time you got to go on a rocking adventure like this, really? “Never”, is the answer most are likely going to give, and as such, there’s no time like the present to… rock!
Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! can be acquired from Steam ($17.99) where a demo also resides.
