They’re back! Eh? What do you mean, “who”? 3D Realms of course, with another Realms Deep, this time supposedly showing off “the greatest new games you’ve never heard of”. Quite the bold claim, although if the contents of its teaser trailer are anything to go by, we’re in for quite a treat during Realms Deep 2022.
Kicking off on September 16 at 12:00 PM PT, Realms Deep 2022 will run the entire weekend, ending on September 18, 2022, with world premieres, special guests, interviews, and… more. More what? Oh. Right. They haven’t revealed that part. Where? Why, on Twitch and YouTube, of course.
Now, with both Kingpin: Reloaded and SiN: Reloaded coming up, to say they’re gambling on nostalgia would be an understatement, but I’m unlikely to be alone in gladly welcoming enhanced versions of those two oldies! As for what, if anything, we’ll hear about those at Realms Deep 2022, well, that remains to be seen. There’ll be plenty of other titles as well, so if a healthy dose of remastering/modernization of FPS classics isn’t your cup of tea, perhaps GRAVEN, Ion Fury’s Aftershock expansion, ’90s-inspired immersive sim Core Decay, Quake-powered horror shooter WRATH: Aeon of Ruin, and/or horror-themed cult shooter CULTIC might still tickle your fancy.

Curious as to which other developers/publishers might get a chance to shine during Realms Deep 2022? Well, New Blood, HYPERSTRANGE, Nightdive Studios, Rogue Games, Running With Scissors, Top Hat Studios, and NoLight Games, have all been confirmed… alongside plenty of others. Groovy stuff, to say the least. Are you ready? You better be!
