In 2023, I’d wager most wouldn’t use MS Paint for anything… well… beyond very basic doodling or nonsensical creations. Or perhaps they would? queer ms paint jam, which is well underway, maintains that hope, at least, looking to bring back(?) the magic of one of the most basic digital tools for today’s artists (and game makers).
Theme? Rankings? Nope. None of that. This is a super chill, quirky game jam for queer devs, because… you know, why not? Sure, it might seem silly to some, but as someone who remembers when MS Paint went by the name Paintbrush (1985-1995) instead, well, nostalgia, baby!
i’ve had a lot of fun working within the restrictions of using ms paint for all the assets in my most recent game, so i thought i’d share the love.
Seriously though, take it for what it is and who knows, magic just might end up happening. Won’t know without trying, after all, so hey – what are you waiting for? It’s MS Paint time!
