I hope you managed to submit your game to this year’s Queer Games Festival because the deadline has come and gone, and the massive Games Showcase spanning 83(!) titles is now available. Quite the lovely increase over last year’s 57. Nice variety, too, and I was rather pleasantly surprised to spot a few familiar faces once again.
“Which”, you ask? Let’s see… Deliver Us From Evil (DUFE): Masquerade, Mima and Nina’s Chocolate Workshop, Pink Takes Shape, and He Fucked The Girl Out of Me, some of which I have already played while others are still in my backlog (sorry, games!). Hopefully, I’ll end up with a positive impression upon experiencing as many of this year’s Queer Games Festival entries as possible. Only one way to find out, as they say.
I’ve listed the aforementioned titles below, but do not forget about the full list while you’re busy enjoying my picks as they are after all only 4 out of a whoppin’ 83. Ah, so many groovy new queer games!
Deliver Us From Evil (DUFE): Masquerade
“Insecurities can bring out the worst in anyone—including Keldran and Ace, centuries-long friends with benefits. What starts off as a fun haunted house trip soon turns sinister, as they find themselves at the mercy of a ravenous spirit that wears their faces. If they cannot navigate their unspoken feelings and conquer their fears, they may find themselves as nothing more than silent spirits, wandering the halls forever.”
Mima and Nina’s Chocolate Workshop
It’s Valentine’s Day, which means it’s time to make chocolate to give to somebody special! Your best friends, Mima and Nina, are here to help you out. Listen to their tips and make the perfect chocolate!
Pink Takes Shape
Pink Takes Shape is a queer metroidvania about exploration and changing shape.
He Fucked The Girl Out of Me
A game about sex work and trauma.
