Welcome to Easthollow. Depending on the choices you make over the course of Not It: Spookiest Edition, Katie could easily end up… dead. Because, of all things, this place is supposedly quite cursed. Ugh. So much for a nice, relaxing change of locale and a new home in a quiet setting. On the other hand, it’s bound to make for an interesting story, right?
Yeah, about that: in spite of having not played Not It: Spookiest Edition – or the original game jam version, simply titled Not It – I can still say (at least) this one thing with almost absolute certainty: don’t get too attached to any of the characters, as somewhere amongst the visual novel’s twenty-five endings, one or more are bound to end up, well, no longer breathing. Or alive. Or both. Going to be a very interesting Hallow’s Eve, this one.
Could one of her new neighbors be cursed? Could it even be her? Whether or not the curse is real, Easthollow’s townsfolk are scared, and people could get hurt.
Maybe it’s all a hoax. Maybe someone’s cooked up an elaborate scheme. One that, incidentally, involves a whole lot of killing. Either way, not good, so don your best detective cap and at least try to solve this mystery before it’s too late. For everyone. Oh, and in case you’re not overly fond of gruesome visuals, be sure to enable the less gory mode to censor the game’s violent CGs. A welcome inclusion, honestly, and the tale is bound to still be overflowing with unsettling moments – just without blood splatter and similar eerie visuals.
Not It: Spookiest Edition is available on Steam and itch.io, with a $6.99 price tag.
