A dystopian cyberpunk world, a secret to unravel, and at your disposal? Ancient techniques! Slash, slice, dice, and maybe block every so often, as you take on the form of a pixellated one-person-army in Neuron.
The opposition seemingly has not only giant robots, but also sword-wielding soldiers and even ones armed to the teeth with ranged weaponry – in other words, you’re likely going to need a bit of luck to go with those ‘ancient techniques’ to make it through in one piece.
As for exactly what you’re fighting for and who you’re up against, well, that’s a secret to everybody (and nobody), for unless you pick up a copy of Neuron and take it for a spin, good luck figuring that part out. Can’t say I like when game pages spoil huge chunks of the plot outright, but this is almost the exact opposite, and honestly, that’s even worse.
Even so, if you’re in the mood for fast-paced 2D sword-meets-giant robots, you know what to do.
Neuron is available on Steam ($3.99) and itch.io ($2.99).
