You’re dead and you only have 23 hours left on Earth. Where do you go? What, you have no idea? Well, there’s this back-alley Melbourne cafe. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Wait, you’re not dead? Oh right – in Necrobarista, unlike most of the characters you’ll encounter, you are actually very much alive. At least I think so.
Well, whatever the case, the recently deceased will be spending their final night (and day, I suppose, 23 hours and all) mingling with the living… and you get to listen to all their quirky secrets. Sorta. After watching the trailer below and the available screenshots, I’d be crazy not to think something else is going on behind the scenes. Bit of a mystery if you will.
Something that may forever change “Melbourne’s hipstery coffee culture”, if we’re not careful. I mean, the description does make mention of “the questionable ethics of necromancy” and “the process of letting go”, and at least one of those reeks of suspiciousness to me. I’m sure you can figure out which one, and I’m all the more intrigued because of it.
Delve into the world of the Terminal and fantasy Melbourne through free-roaming first-person scenes.
All that said, even though we know so little about Necrobarista at this point, what do you, dear reader, think is going to happen as its story unfolds? The dead shall walk the Earth, sure, although not quite in the way a certain horror movie depicted. Then again…
Necrobarista will be available from Steam and Playism, come Q3 2019. Switch and PlayStation 4? 2020.
