Transporting furniture can be frustrating, tiresome, and even dangerous. In Moving Out all of those apply… except it makes for a fun experience. Somehow. Perhaps the combination of ridiculousness and its physics engine has something to do with that. Or maybe it’s the co-op craziness. Perhaps both. Right. Anyway, the game is getting even better real soon with a sizeable free update (Moving In) and a piece of what appears to be tropical island-themed DLC (Movers in Paradise).
So, first the free stuff: an upcoming update, titled Moving In. I’m honestly a tad surprised, albeit pleasantly, that this comes in the form of a content patch rather than (premium) DLC, given the feature list: a Move In mode spanning 12 levels, an assist mode for those struggling (or perhaps speedrunners in unique categories?), new dances, and best of all, new t-shirt customization options. Actually… wait, no. The best part of it is definitely the new dances. If Fortnite players are anything to go by. Just saying. But seriously, quite a hefty update!
How a bed gets from point A to point B is never a straight line, so throw out the training manual and get creative!
Oh, and depending on where you live, winter just might have arrived, blistering cold and all. As such, the upcoming piece of Moving Out DLC, Movers in Paradise, just might be the thing you need. Unless you enjoy freezing your you-know-what off. But let’s be real, no one fancies the cold. Except, maybe penguins. I guess. Movers certainly don’t, even in video games, so it’s rather fortunate that Movers in Paradise will be relocating the whole experience to a warm and sunny tropical paradise (based on the trailer below).
You’ll be too busy working to bask in the sun though, but eh – minor detail. Someone has to fling beds and couches across the ocean deep, and that someone could very well be you. If you’re up for the task. Do bring a friend or two (or three), however, for it is dangerous to move alone. Doable, but dangerous nonetheless.
Moving Out is available on Steam, Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
