Ah, Adventure Game Studio. Easily my favorite engine of all time, second only to… SCUMM (bet ya didn’t see that coming). Unlike most jams, which tend to last anything from 72 hours to a week, with no engine restriction, MAGS spans a full month and requires participants to use Adventure Game Studio. So who’s in the mood for some fresh freeware adventures?
So, MAGS May. As I’m sure you remember, this one carried the theme ‘sex’, and as such, I couldn’t help but wonder whether people would take it seriously or not. Well, both participants certainly utilized the theme in a way I did not expect them to, which is a good thing, while the same time managing to keep the maturity level high… in more than one way.
One’s a racer, the other a pointy ‘n clicky adventure, both with a more or less serious sexual undertone. What more can ya ask for? A low price tag? Already covered in the initial paragraph! Anyway, the links below will take you directly to the download for each game. Enjoy! Oh, almost forgot to mention that MAGS June is well underway, carrying the theme ‘Alien Invasion’; because, how could that possibly go wrong?
Note: the victor of MAGS May is as of yet undecided, but I’ll update this article with said info, once it becomes available.
Urgent Quest (Hedge) [1st place]
Help Dave on his sudden and urgent quest. (Note from author: It is my first game and I became a little overwhelmed by the project. The game is still bugged and has 1/3 of its planed length. I will work on improving it. Yet to meet the criteria I upload what I managed to do in a month.)
Second Place Is For Losers (AprilSkies) [2nd place]
Naughty goings on in bed may mean a lot of things. It may mean to have fun, it may mean to love someone, it may mean nothing… and sometimes it may mean procreation! (Don’t worry I said “sometimes”). There was a time when naughty goings on in bed was one of the most important event in your life: that happended more or less 9 months before the day you was born. During that, you started a race… It was the very first victory in your life… You were the first placed! There are competitions where it’s not important to win. In that kind of competion all positions are for losers but the first place. Even second place is for losers….
