Adventure Game Studio. Easily my favorite engine, second only to SCUMM. So, MAGS! Unlike most jams, which tend to last from 72 hours to a full week with no engine restriction, this one spans a month and requires participants to use… wait for it… Adventure Game Studio! Who’s in the mood for creating some adventure games?
“Distance No Object”. Yeah. If ever there was a theme with many interpretations… ya know? As such, I suspect we’ll see plenty variety from MAGS entries this time around, some even… going the distance. With objects. Or without. Confused? Then maybe you should just fire up Adventure Game Studio and get started on MAGS August instead, because the clock’s ticking!
Also, do take some time to play MAGS July’s submissions (below), as voting is well underway.
Valhalla Extinction (Grok)
You can play as Tor or Freja to keep the candles burning or as Hel to blow them out.
GNRBLEX (WHAM)
Can YOU stop the extinction of Gnrblexian mind-maggot?
Predators Prey For Plants (Ross Kevin Moffat (AKA Mandle))
Observing the fluctuations of the different populations should give you some first-hand experience with the concepts of dwindling resources, boom-and-bust in plant and animal populations, and even extinction in extreme cases.
The Awakening (Luis de los Rios)
Strapped to a medical tank in a seemingly abandoned facility with no recollection of what had happened, Subject #16 must find his way to escape this dreadful place and locate his Masters in order to survive.
