MAGS April Is a Case of “Mistaken Identity”

MAGS April Is a Case of “Mistaken Identity”

Adventure Game Studio. Easily my favorite engine, second only to SCUMM. So, MAGS! Unlike most jams, which tend to last from 72 hours to a full week with no engine restriction, this one spans a month and requires participants to use… wait for it… Adventure Game Studio! Who’s in the mood for creating some adventure games?

At some point or other, we all make mistakes; large or small, it’s a part of life, really. I mean, our senses can only tell us so much about a situation, item, person, etc. And as you’ve probably guessed, that’s exactly what’s going on with this month’s MAGS jam, its theme being Mistaken Identity and all. So get confused, or create something confu– ugh. You know what I mean! I hope. If not, there’s always the below quote, taken from the MAGS April post…

I’ve been arrested for a crime I didn’t commit. How was I supposed to know the painting I took wasn’t the one I’d bought? The owner of the gallery was fine with…what do you mean that wasn’t the owner?! And this coffee tastes awful. Wait, this is coffee, right?

Oh, and as always, entries from the month prior can be found below.

THE SMALLEST POINTS

THE  SMALLEST  POINTS (Mandle)
The destiny of a towering future literary figure is at stake when Gloria writes a love letter to her sweetheart, John.
Can the smallest points save her from a mediocre life of drudgery married to this sop, and save her great writing talent for all the ages to enjoy?!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
