Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, fun, celebration, and cheer. For a lot of people, it is absolutely exactly that. But then there’s Frankie. Something tells me that plan to prepare the perfect Christmas for his girlfriend is going to be a bit of a bumpy road in Last Christmas.
Why? Well, its Steam page does have “Dark humour” listed as a feature, so with that and the part about how “things aren’t always as they seem” combined, I’d say we have a bit of a spine-chiller here. Even if I’m wrong about that, I’m sure the absolute abundance of snow covering just about every part of the outdoor area will generate a shiver or two. Likely more so for its protagonist, Frankie, than the player, but still.
Oh, and the content warnings. Don’t ignore them. Much like the fact that there are no less than 4 unique endings, they too are important. When was the last time you played a genre entry with multiple endings, after all? Sure, Last Christmas might be short, clocking in at about an hour based on Steam reviews, but it most certainly still seems like a good time.
Why wait for December to come around before playing a season-to-be-jolly-themed video game? Frankie’s girlfriend is waiting for the perfect Christmas, and it’s just not going to happen unless you ensure everything clicks into place. With a bit of pointing to help move things along, too.
Last Christmas is available on Steam for $4.99.
