It seems that the entire population of Conwell Springs, Kathy Rain‘s hometown, has either lost their mind or is close to the edge. What on Earth might have triggered such an event, and perhaps more importantly, why? Oh and as if that’s not bad enough, her grandfather’s recent demise doesn’t quite add up. It’s almost as if fate itself is gunning for our poor protagonist in this low-res adventure.
Hopefully, magic will indeed happen if you point and click enough though, as that’s what you’ll be doing throughout the entirety of this one; maybe, just maybe, making everything right in the end. Maybe. But one thing’s certain: with so many oddities, you’re likely to need a pinch of magic. Unfortunately, I think this one’s rooted deeply in our own reality, meaning no hocus pocus. Although, really, who’s to say? Mystery brews mystery or some such.
Armed with her motorcycle, a pack of cigs, and a notepad, Kathy begins to delve into a local mystery surrounding her hometown that will take her on a harrowing journey full of emotional and personal turmoil.
Now, the odds may be against her and as the trailer below depicts, Kathy is not one to mess with – a strong-willed woman, as it were – but that doesn’t mean everything’s guaranteed to go her way. In fact, unless this particular genre entry strays from the norm, the exact opposite will likely hold true, troubling times aplenty. And not just ones related to her ‘investigation’ either…
Kathy Rain is available from Steam and GOG.com, carrying a $14.99 price tag.
