Yay, Indie Royale has (kinda) boarded the charity train! Actually, I’m not sure if World Water Day (via. Playmob) is a charity as such, but it’s definitely worthy of some support, and I for one am glad they’re doing just that. It’s no secret that resource consumption is a global issue, after all, so what better way to aid it than by bundling aquatic-themed indie games for cheap?
So, six games, no mystery titles this time and as always, its price tag is lowered when someone pays more than the average. Electric Cafe’s Aqua Kitty Soundtrack album is the musical addition, which will be included by forking over at least $6 at the checkout counter. Neat, eh? Onto the games!
Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians (Windows, Mac, Linux – Steam, Desura)
Awakened from his slumber, Beatbuddy journeys through lush hand-painted environments on a quest to save his companions and his own immortality. Beatbuddy interacts with the living breathing environment that pulses to the beat of an original soundtrack, aiding him as he unlocks new paths and solves puzzles.
Puddle (Windows, Mac, Linux – Steam, Desura)
Dive into Puddle, a game unlike any other where you have to guide a puddle of fluid by tilting the environment to the left or right! Play carefully taking friction, gravity and temperature into account, and by using the unique properties of each type of fluid (water, oil, nitroglycerin, molten lava…) in a range of original environments. Conserve as much fluid as possible when crossing a variety of obstacles such as burning passageways, carnivorous plants and electric currents!
Pressure (Windows – Steam, Desura)
Putting pressure on Pressure! PRESSURE combines a cleverly designed Steampunk-world with the fury of classic platform racing and shooting games. Filled with crazy characters, oddball humor and fuming boilers, players will race through striking environments as they attempt to take down the dark lord and spoil his sinister plot. A keen eye, fast reflexes and laser concentration are a must in order to maneuver through Pressure’s high octane world.
Depth Hunter (Windows – Desura)
Depth Hunter offers 25 exciting missions in which players will hunt different fish species and face the difficulties of breath-holding spearfishing, an ancient fishing method. Players will also have to find treasures, meet predators and get the possibility to take underwater photos to capture the beauty of the simulated, detailed and lively underwater worlds they’re exploring also in a free mode.
The Ship (Windows – Steam)
The Ship is a multiplayer game of subterfuge and assassination, played on a series of 1920s cruise ships. Hunt down and murder your quarry while looking out for the assassin hunting you. Take care of your needs by eating and sleeping, improvise weapons from whatever you can find on board, avoid the cameras and security guards and, whatever you do, don’t lash out with a croquet mallet in front of another passenger!
Storm in a Teacup (Windows, Mac – Steam)
Get ready for a wonderful, magical adventure. Take up the mantle of Storm and guide him on his magical teacup through a dreamlike landscape created by the vivid imagination of his older brother, Clouds.
Don’t forget that Indie Royale’s The World Water Day Bundle will only be available for a little less than four days, so don’t wait too long; unless you enjoy paying full price for indie games, that is. Nothing wrong with that, but since a bundle has been made available and all – might as well, right?
