Get Spooked With The Halloween 2 Bundle From Indie Royale

Woohoo! October 31 is finally upon us, and with it, All Hallows’ Eve related things in video games! Including… a new Indie Royale bundle. Zombies, vampires and a werewolf or two. Yup, definitely a Halloween bundle.

As always, Indie Royale’s bringing six… wait, no. Wow. Seven games and a mystery title this time, with most games packing Steam and/or keys, and a few that are only available as DRM-free downloads. Mac users ain’t getting nothing this time, and only a single Linux game. Price drops every time someone pays more than the average and if you want Adhesive Wombat’s Marsupial Madness album, cough up at least $7; otherwise, $4.85 is the current minimum.

Looking for a reason or two to grab the bundle? Well, Rise of the Ravager of course! I did have a lot of fun playing it after all. Oh and Organ Trail: Director’s Cut is definitely a fun zombified take on the classic Oregon Trail. Still here? Ready for some spooooooky (and cheap) games? Alright then!

Organ Trail: Director's Cut

Organ Trail: Director’s Cut (Windows – Steam, Desura, DRM-free)
Organ Trail is a retro zombie survival game. Travel westward in a station wagon with 4 of your friends, scavenging for supplies and fending off the undead. Members of your party might die of dysentery or you might have to put them down yourself when they get bit. Faithfully recreated as if it were on the Apple 2, Organ Trail offers amazing 16 color art and retro beeps and boops.

Dark Fall: Lost Souls

Dark Fall: Lost Souls (Windows – Steam, Desura)
You, The Inspector, have been trying to solve the case of the eerie abduction of young Amy Haven for several years, but were suspended for tampering with evidence to get the primary suspect convicted, the vagabond known as “Mr. Bones”. Now, you return to Dowerton for a last, paranormal search to find Amy Haven, and to learn the secret of the Dark Fall.

Nightmares From the Deep: The Cursed Heart

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart (Windows – DRM-free)
You are a museum owner pursuing an undead pirate who kidnapped your daughter. You quickly learn that the villain is entangled in a tragic, centuries-old love story, and wishes to use your daughter’s life force to resurrect his true love. You have to stop him before it’s too late…

Rise of the Ravager

Rise of the Ravager (Windows, Linux – DRM-free) my review – Greenlight
Rise of the Ravager is arcade action best described as a blending of Guitar Hero and Missile Command. A god desires to be reborn, an event that would signal the End of Times. In Rise of the Ravager, seek favor from the Old Ones to prevent his avatar from destroying all. Play alone, or invite up to three friends to blast hordes of enemies utilizing a unique combat system based on color. Large boss fights, multiple landscapes, unfolding mythology – preventing the End of Time is an entertaining challenge.

eXceed 2nd - Vampire REX

eXceed 2nd – Vampire REX (Windows – Steam, DRM-free)
Featuring an addictive dual-polarity gameplay system, this amazing vertical shmup is sure to please any shooter fan. The polarity and color of your character can be changed to absorb enemy bullets of the same polarity while charging the special weapon in the process and doing double damage to enemies of the opposite polarity. Every bullet absorbed charges your special weapon for total destruction.

Alien Zombie Megadeath

Alien Zombie Megadeath (Windows – Steam, DRM-free)
Alien Zombie Megadeath is a gloriously intense platform shoot-em-up! You are the lone Spaceman, doing boring space work on a random space platform in deep space when suddenly a huge, relentless, alien force attacks! However these are not your normal everyday aliens…these are alien ZOMBIES! Even through his protective helmet, Spaceman is sickend by their smelliness.

Dead Hungry Diner

Dead Hungry Diner (Windows – Steam, DRM-free)
Dead Hungry Diner is all about big combos, spells, monsters fighting monsters and finding your flow within the monstrous mayhem! Help Gabe and Gabby, patrons of “The Dead Hungry Diner”, as they feed the creatures of the night buckets and buckets of juicy Brain Berry goop! (Well… that’s the easy part!) Do you know what happens when you place werewolves near vampires? They fight!!! And you don’t want fighting when you have so many other things to take care of…

Overcast - Walden and the Werewolf

Overcast – Walden and the Werewolf [Alpha] (Windows – DRM-free) Greenlight
The game tells the story of an old hunter who lives alone in the woods, without any connection with the society, making nature his only form of livelihood. However, Walden, as it is called the hunter and the game’s protagonist, began to be haunted by a mysterious creature that destroyed the village located near his cabin, killing every person residing on the premises. Now, Walden wants revenge.

Don’t forget that Indie Royale’s The Halloween 2 Bundle will only be available for little less than seven days, so don’t wait too long; unless you enjoy paying full price for indie games, that is. Nothing wrong with that, but since a bundle has been made available and all – might as well, right?

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
