It’s that time of the year again: the magical time during which developers rush to submit their games to this year’s Independent Games Festival (IGF)! So many indie games, lots of winners (eventually) too, and lots of celebrations at the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
Don’t you just love having an entire festival dedicated to indie games? I mean, this one’s been running for decades now, so surely someone out there does, and I for one am thankful for that! As is often the case with such events, a lot of developers are going to end up competing, and there are a lot of categories to compete in as well. But more importantly, there are lots of games to shine that bright spotlight on and lots of money up for grabs—basically, lots of good stuff.
The Independent Games Festival is the longest-running and highest profile independent video game festival, summit and showcase.
So be sure to get that project submitted in time! Just in case, I’ve listed important dates and deadlines below. For more details, be sure to check out the announcement post.
Now, who’s hyped for the 27th annual IGF (and of course, GDC 2025)?
