Time to Vote on The Interactive Fiction Competition 2020’s 100(!)+ Entries

Time to Vote on The Interactive Fiction Competition 2020’s 100(!)+ Entries

Welcome to the wonderful world of interactive ficti– oh, already a fan? Ah, surely you’ve also heard about IFComp (aka. The Interactive Fiction Competition then)? No? Well, by all means, do continue reading, , as this year’s entries are awaiting playtesting and – more importantly – votes!

But first… a round of applause for the over one-hundred(!) entries. A noticeable increase from last year’s 82 and an undeniably impressive amount of new tales of the interactive sort, no matter how you look at it. Every last one is playable too, with no price tag or silly DRM attached. Oh, and don’t forget to vote after experiencing these ever-wondrous tales of interactive fictive worlds. Heck, why not go crazy and play… them all? ALL OF THEM! YEAH! Ahem.

Wait, no. Don’t. Please don’t. That’d be much too daunting, even for the most dedicated reader of IF, gamebooks, etc. Thankfully, the only requirement to have your vote validated is to play a grand total of five entries. Before November 29. Who knows what hidden gem(s) one might uncover? Won’t know unless you give it/them a go, so get to it! Pretty please?

Be sure to read up on the rules before you jump in, drooling over all those fancy tales of choice-driven narration, however.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
