Hope you’re ready for another round of randomly generated monster-infested dungeons full of permadeath, wizards, lizards, guns and ammo, and… all that good roguelike stuff. You are? Awesome! Then be sure to check out the latest weekly from bundle veteran, Humble, as it’s full of that stuff. Full, I say. Full! A grand total of six very different games lined up, across three different price tags.
Everything comes with Steam keys this time around, but unfortunately, only about half the lot is available as DRM-free. Even so, each of the three pricing tiers (pay-whatever-you-want, beat-the-average and $8+) does feature at least one worthwhile game, I’d say. As always, applicable soundtracks will be included with purchase and don’t forget that you can freely decide who (Humble, developers, charity) gets how much, simply by adjusting the sliders during purchase. Yay, charity!
Vertical Drop Heroes HD [PWYW]
Vertical Drop Heroes is a procedural platformer RPG hybrid with roguelike elements, where your hero adventures through randomly generated stages. Armed with a variety of skills and traits, you must use your cunning and reflexes to survive the dangers of each stage until you face the final boss and uncover the truth behind the game!
A Wizard’s Lizard [PWYW]
Conquer the forces of Death in A Wizard’s Lizard, an action RPG for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Explore ever-changing dungeons, filled with valuable treasure and powerful items while battling back the hordes of evil. Rescue townsfolk to improve your town and aid your next trek into the dungeon.
The Nightmare Cooperative [PWYW]
The Nightmare Cooperative is a strategic roguelike where you lead a group of unlikely comrades through some rather difficult situations. Your village has fallen on hard times (due to some rather reckless spending by the Village Council) and it’s up to you to bring back some gold. Or even just try and survive for a bit.
Road Not Taken [BTA]
Road Not Taken is a roguelike puzzle game about surviving life’s surprises. You play as a ranger adventuring through a vast, unforgiving forest in the aftermath of a brutal winter storm, rescuing children who have lost their way. Randomly generated levels deliver a limitless supply of possibilities to explore and challenges to overcome. Your actions will influence not only your own story, but that of the villagers you hope to befriend and the town you call home.
Delver (Early Access) [BTA]
Take the role of an adventurer that tries their fate in the dark dungeons (and probably dies horribly). Fight monsters, grab loot, hoard potions, and level up! Quest for the Yithidian orb at the darkest depths of the dungeon and attempt to bring it back to the surface — getting to it may be the easy part.
Heavy Bullets [$8+]
Armed with a simple yet stylish revolver and six devastatingly plump bullets, you must reset the security mainframe to restore order and reap the rewards of a job well done. To succeed in the game, players will need to move carefully and make smart use of their bullets, items, and the environment as rushing into new areas is the fastest way to get killed in the untamed wild of the neon corridors.
Don’t forget that Humble Weekly Sale: Roguelikes 2 will only be available for a little less than seven days (hence, weekly), so don’t wait too long; unless you enjoy paying full price for indie games, that is. Nothing wrong with that, but since a bundle has been made available and all – might as well, right?
