Fight for Every Edible Scrap to Avoid Starvation in ‘Food Wars’ (MAGS)

Fight for Every Edible Scrap to Avoid Starvation in ‘Food Wars’ (MAGS)

Locusts. Can’t say I’m a big fan of those particular insects, and after playing Food Wars, even less so. They did after all steal food from just about every animal in the region, leaving them to starve… unless Hammy Hamster is able to somehow save the day, perhaps teaching those pesky locusts a lesson about sharing too.

Everything from apples to cobs has been napped, and with everyone growing ever more hungry, Hammy Hamster better hurry. The road to riches (or rather, delicious grub) is long and full of puzzles, maybe even a scrap to eat along the way so our poor protagonist doesn’t go hungry en route to wherever the locusts are hiding. Oh, and try not to act too surprised by the talking animals. They are after all a friendly bunch. Save for the locusts. Those… darn… locu– ahem.

Locusts have been stealing the food of other creatures who are now starving. Can Hammy Hamster journey and save the day? This is food wars!

Anyway, to make getting around as easy as possible, that big ol’ ‘Open Map’ button at the top of the screen acts as a means of fast travel. Seeing how time is most certainly of the essence, this inclusion is absolutely vital, for how else is Hammy Hamster ever going to get around before his tummy rumbling gets out of control? How indeed. From Buck’s Row to Owl’s Barn and every locale between the two, there’s quite a bit of ground to cover here, and unsurprisingly, everyone wants something… or help with something… or something something. Go Hammy Hamster, go!

Food Wars can be downloaded for free (Windows/Linux), and be sure to leave some feedback for the MAGS entry.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
