Many games don’t begin or even give the player anything resembling the freedom to explore until the tutorial ends. Well, in Fishy 3D, things actually kick off immediately with you – a tiny fish – being flushed down a toilet and straight into a polluted riverbed! Surely, things can only get better from that point on, right?
One should certainly hope so, but whether you make something of yourself or get eaten by predators… now that depends entirely on your actions. Puzzles, obstacles, and big(ger) fish need to be dealt with, if you are to have any chance of, you know, escaping. Into what I do not know, but the game’s description does read “maybe this time you can finally really escape”, so surely, somewhere, there’s a path out of this nasty place.
An adventure game about a hungry fish ?
So what do you actually do in Fishy 3D, aside from splishing and splashing all day? Eat! Eat to grow bigger! Eat, eat, and then eat some more! No really. There are also collectables and fish fighting to engage in, as you go about exploring this “sprawling micro-world”. Oh, and funny fish noises. Such a feature most certainly warrants a mention!
Fishy 3D is available on itch.io and Steam, carrying a $3 price tag. Not sure what’s up with its Steam page.
