Norse warriors are not to be trifled with as they can be quite a ruthless bunch if history is to be trusted. But why settle for dusty books that describe what once was, when you can command your very own clan of said Norse warriors in Expeditions: Viking, circa 790 AD? Why indeed. The time has come to make history, however you see fit. Your clan, your choices, your… glorious battles!
That said, in this game, greatness is earned rather than simply bestowed upon the protagonist. As such, you’ll need to manage your resources optimally, pick and choose battles carefully, and above all else, plunder and pillage like a maniac! YEAH! Ahem. Anyway, what awaits is more than a glorified TBS (Turn-Based Strategy) title, in that you’ll also have to do a bit of political work, as well as carefully tread through scenarios where the wrong decision can lead to trouble. Lots of trouble. Perhaps even more than you can handle? Yeah. Right. Like that’d ever be the case. VIKINGS!
Oh, did I mention you’ll get to conquer Britannia? What better place to wage war, than in such a foggy, cold climate? How about, oh I don’t know, somewhere warm? But alas, conquest is just that, and it’s not like you have much of a choice in what your next target will be, anyway. So keep your friends close and your enemies closer, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll come out on top, securing your place among the fallen heroes in Valhalla. In a decade or two, after making a name for yourself, that is. Onward, to victory!
(Thanks to Nordic Game for the heads up.)
