March may be coming to an end, but Klei still managed to sneak in a sizeable quality of life update for their lovely multiplayer survival affair, Don’t Starve Together. As noted in the official post, the full patch notes are “a bit… much”, although regular readers should know by now that I tend to pick apart highlights anyway with a link to the complete changelog for the rest. That said… holy new crafting UI!
Gone are the days of scrolling and clicking, only to find you can’t craft a certain item yet. In their place… wow, so much more information immediately available, and the rest, easier to access. Love it. Oh, and the redesign also adds functionality like a favorites system and the ability to pin recipes to the side of the screen. On top of that, how about crafting menu scaling and the ability to move your character while it’s open – provided you’re using a gamepad? Groovy stuff, really.
Aside from that, Wolfgang apparently went to the gym behind the scenes, as he “now gains a small amount of mightiness while performing physical activity, such as chopping and mining”, although he’s still unable to run with dumbbells without mightiness draining. It’s a start though. Maybe one day. With enough lifting.
Oh right, a number of items had their recipes adjusted while Terra Firma Tamper and Tackle Receptacle can be prototyped following this update. New Item Skin Collection and Streaming Drops? Why, of course, and last but not least… seems we’re due for another character refresh soon. Who? I don’t actually know. Klei’s being Klei, as usual, all hush-hush about it. Patience, virtue, and so on, I guess.
