As of approximately seven hours ago, this year’s Digital Dragons Indie Showcase is open for submissions! What does that mean? Now is the time to submit your game for a chance at getting its demo featured on Steam or GOG.COM during the event, that’s what. Might pick up an award too, although at the time of writing, exactly what’s up for grabs remains a mystery.
Now, in case you somehow managed to miss it in that big picture atop this article, Digital Dragons 2020 will run between September 15 and 18, 2020, during which… a slew of indie games will be featured across Steam and GOG.COM with playable demos. Lots and lots of playable demos. Given the current state of affairs across the globe, it’s hardly a surprise that Digital Dragons went all-digital this time, and while that obviously means certain things will be different, speeches/presentations will still be held. Speaking of which, submissions for that will be closing on July 31st.
But what about the fabled Indie Showcase? Ah, see, you’d do well to give it some serious consideration if the plan is to have your game distributed through GOG.COM down the road, as the form contains a little box to check with the text We are interested in publishing our game on GOG not later than upon the release on other PC platforms next to it. Hint hint. Other important tidbits? Yeah, you’re gonna need a video showcasing at least ten minutes of gameplay. Not a trailer. Actual gameplay. Also a bunch of other things, so be sure to go over everything thoroughly before clicking that bottom button.

Oh, should you desire access to the Registration Q&A, the meeting application, Virtual Expo booths, all Lectures, Panels, live Q&A, and the Digital Dragons Awards Gala, this link is for you. I’d act sooner rather than later too, if I were you, seeing how ‘early bird’ prices are only available until August 15. Just something to keep in mind. Needless to say, the demos on Steam/GOG.COM will be free as part of the Indie Showcase, so this is only for those interested in attending Digital Dragons 2020, however online/digital its current form.
