I miss arcades. Or rather, I miss when arcade machines were less scarce in my neck of the woods, as these days, you’d be hard-pressed to find any outside of amusement parks. But in Button City, the local arcade is both alive and kicking, fun times are had by everyone. All that’s going to end if that greedy fat cat Peppermint Pepperbottom has any say in the matter, however, which means… he must be stopped!
In colourful low-poly Button City, there’s plenty of fun to be had (again, provided Peppermint Pepperbottom is stopped), making friends and hanging out at the local arcade. Between robot battler Gobabots, battery-powered rEVolution Racer, and rainbow rhythm game, Prisma Beats, there’s quite a bit to see and do. Unless you’d rather, you know, save the whole place from being shut down.
Friendship and community. Those words are front and center in this pastel diorama filled with adorable characters, most of which will need your assistance, one way or another. But that’s what friends are for! So go exploring, see what you might find, and who knows – maybe the quests, puzzles, and/or mini-games will enable you to finally chase that pesky Peppermint Pepperbottom out of town for good. If something is worth saving, it’s worth fighting for, and the power of friendship is not to be underestimated. Especially against corporations. Curse those big bullies, always trying to ruin everyone’s fun.
Button City will be hitting Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch come Q3, 2021. PS4 and Xbox One? Oh, they’ll “join the pizza party at a later date”.
