Show Appreciation for Pixel Art During ‘Bored Pixels Jam 9 – Extra Flavor’

I absolutely love pixel art. Whether it’s because I’m old enough to have experienced DOS games when they were new, eh, who knows? Doesn’t really matter anyway. Pixel art is awesome and for a whole fortnight, Bored Pixels Jam 9 – Extra Flavor encourages developers to… create a themed pixel game!

What, the theme? Oh no. You know how these things work: it won’t be revealed until the jam starts on December 17, so patience. Patience. Oh, and pay no mind to the ‘bored’ part of the jam name. Neither you nor your creation need be bored to remain valid. Would be rather fitting though. Just saying.

As for the rules, because this one actually does have such, well, head on over to the website and go over them – at least twice. Links to, as they also put it, ‘useful stuff’ can be found there too, as well as the theme voting link. Yay, democracy! Or something.

Anyway, pixel game, two weeks: the 9th iteration of Bored Pixels Jam is… right around the corner, actually!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
