Play the Games of Yesteryear in Preparation for ‘AGS Awards 2022’

Play the Games of Yesteryear in Preparation for ‘AGS Awards 2022’

We’ve barely left 2022 and yet its AGS Awards are already in full swing, even if we’re only at “play them games !” right now. But what does that mean? Exactly what it says on the tin: now’s the perfect time for everyone to double down on playing Adventure Game Studio creations from 2022!

Okay, so I guess a bit more information might indeed prove useful. Well, like those before it, AGS Awards 2022 is a celebration of games made with Adventure Game Studio and released in the year 2022. With a little luck, it’ll also help shine a brighter light on releases that might not have initially gotten a whole lot of attention. With more than sixty(!) titles to choose from, it’s pretty safe to say few – if any – will be roaming through the entire lot, and of course, no one is actually required to do anything remotely that much before taking to nominating. But we’re not at “nomination time!” just yet, so just worry about playing the games while perhaps even having fun too.

Party like it’s 1990 in this thread!

Oh, if you’re a developer with an Adventure Game Studio creation from 2022, posting about it in AGS Awards 2022 – For Your Consideration is not a bad idea. Quite the opposite, in fact, as this way, those without a lot of time on their hands and/or who don’t care to browse are far more likely to pick from posts in that thread. So get to it, promote your game, and… here’s to another great AGS Awards!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
