Narrative-Driven Games Hitting the British Library With AdventureX 2019 This November

Narrative-Driven Games Hitting the British Library With AdventureX 2019 This November

Since 2011, AdventureX has gathered fans of narrative-driven games in London on a yearly basis, and 2019 shall not be any different: this November, the British Library will be opening its doors to hundreds of people from across the globe for a weekend full of fun and games, if past outings are any indication. Very groovy.

Certain things will be the same as last year, while some are going to be different (cue dramatic music): there will be no Kickstarter, it will be a ticketed event at the British Library, and… it’ll be in November. During the first weekend this time, however. For those without a calendar nearby, that means AdventureX 2019 will be held on November 2nd and 3rd. Discounted ‘early bird’ weekend passes will be available early July, while ever so slightly higher priced tickets become available later this year.

With that out of the way, here’s another awesome tidbit: applications are open, meaning those with an interest in either exhibiting or hosting a talk/panel would do well to stop procrastinating and, you know, apply. Right now. Why? How? Ah, such questions! This should help answer some of them. Oh, and artists – or just one, rather – are also in demand for (perhaps even at?) this year’s AdventureX; someone has to make those marketing materials and Goodie-Bag rewards look pretty after all!

So to summarize: AdventureX 2019 will be held at the British Library in London on November 2nd and 3rd. Any and all moon logic is to be checked at the door.

Note: the photo above all this text was taken by me at AdventureX 2018.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
