Would ya look at that: Cassie Benter and Stacy Davidson recently revealed that they’ll be hosting the popular AdventureJam on GameJolt again this year – and pretty darn soon, at that! Doesn’t matter if you’re a maker, a player, or simply curious; there are all kinds of adventure(s) to be had in this one. Whether it be of the pixelated kind, super high-res stylized imagery, or even a crazy mix, there… will… be… ADVENTURES! So very groovy.
So, instead of boring everyone with long rants about the genre, I’m just gonna go over the facts real quick: this year’s AdventureJam will be taking place between May 4th and 18th, giving aspiring creators a full two weeks to get into the groove and create some awesome adventures for everyone to explore. Everyone. That means you too, the person out there staring at the screen, wondering what he/she has stumbled upon in this article.
Whether you love point & click adventure, text adventure or exploring 3D environments, we want you to jump in and create a game that embodies the spirit of adventure, whatever that means for you!
As for the rules… well, like years prior, they’re pretty relaxed but do make sure you read them still. Would be such a shame to get disqualified because of a minor mishap, ya know? Oh, and there will be judging/voting across several categories, making this as much a competition as a jam! So better bring your a-game (get it?) if you hope to place. Or, you know, relax and have fun. Whatever floats your adventuring boat/raft/hovercar.
Last but not least, be sure to stop by and say hi, over on the official AdventureJam Discord, eh? Promise you won’t regret it.
