There are many game jams out there. Numerous, even. Sadly, most of them aren’t exactly overly creative when it comes to the theme (you know who you are!). Actual Adult Games is the rare exception, tasking participants with the creation of a new game about… well, whatever he/she/it/they think grownups do. Doesn’t have to be an ‘adult game’, although I suppose it could. If it must.
Pre-made assets are allowed, much like NSFW content – but must be tagged as such – and don’t forget to file the necessary paperwork. Because that’s what grownups do. Just kidding. It is one of many examples/ideas listed on the jam’s website. For some reason, “eating ice-cream after midnight” is also on said list. Maybe I’ll get around to trying that at some point.
For some reason when googling Adult Games you get pages of weird results that aren’t not at all related to the experience of being an adult. It’s about time we do something about this.
So, in the not-so-brief period between April 19 at 7:00 PM and April 30h 2019 at 1:00 AM, those interested get to strut their stuff. More than enough time to figure out exactly what you think those boring old people (aka. grownups) do and turn it into a game of some sort.
