The Greenlight Groove: ‘Stardust Vanguards’, ’39 Days to Mars’, ‘Parcel’ and More

It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!

Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, as long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).

KEL Reaper of Entropy

KEL Reaper of Entropy (@TavernGames)
Remember all those RPGs in which you start in a village and you have to prove your worth by clearing the local crypt of undead skeletons? What if you woke up as one of those skeletons instead of the wannabe hero?

Karma. Incarnation 1 (@Karma_Adventure)
The game tells the story of a creature named Pip who is incarnated in the form of a cute-yet-brutal worm, living in a truly surrealistic world. Being naive and not knowing much about this reality, Pip is willing to talk to flowers and stones just as much as he is ready to swallow whole another representative of local fauna.

39 Days to Mars

39 Days to Mars (@philipbuchanan)
39 Days to Mars is a mix of puzzle-adventure and resource management. You play as Sir Albert Wickes and The Right Honourable Clarence Baxter, two 19th century explorers who have been chosen to pilot the HMS Fearful on its maiden voyage to Mars. This spaceship is the pinacle of victorian engineering, designed by the brightest minds of the age. However, Albert and Baxter are not the brightest anything, and are both eminently unqualified to be piloting a spaceship.

DeORBIT throws you in the shoes of an engineer sent to maintain and prepare a space station for it’s second year as a luxury hotel and resort. After a fateful collision with an asteroid , the station is thrown into deep space. The player will have to stay sane and fit, and use their wits to see the end of the adventure…

Timespinner (@LunarRayGames)
Timespinner is a 2D Metroidvania Platformer for PC, Mac OS X, and Linux. The story follows Lunais, a young woman who travels through time to seek revenge on a technologically advanced empire for killing her family. At its heart, the game is a child of the great pixelated classics of the SNES and PS1 age. From the rich story worlds of Star Ocean, the expansive gothic castle exploration in Castlevania, and the tight gameplay of Megaman X, Timespinner seeks to weave all of these elements into one amazing game.

Stardust Vanguards

Stardust Vanguards (@zanrai_int)
Your pilot is equipped with a powerful energy sword and a very limited amount of ammunition. Bullets are a support tool in Stardust Vanguards, something to distract your enemies with and not necessarily something to rely on for kills. In addition to your weaponry, your machine is highly mobile and can dash away from other players or even right into them, but be careful: your engines can burnout temporarily if you boost too much!

Wild Wild Pixel

Wild Wild Pixel (@Fabrazz)
Jacques has been an unwilling resident of The Valley all his life. Named for the massive cliff walls that imprison the empty deserts within, its second most notable feature is how little of note it holds. Jacques has attempted escape from The Valley countless times before to explore the world beyond, but every attempt was met with mysteriously catastrophic failure. Oddly, the other residents do not share his distaste for their home, fueling Jacques frustration and leaving him to plan his escapes alone.
