Many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions; there are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendation(s) from the past week!
The 13th Doll: A Fan Game of The 7th Guest
The 13th Doll is a game created by and for fans of The 7th Guest series! It began as an all volunteer, freeware passion project. Recently, the developers were granted the license to create the game as a retail product. We’re currently running a Kickstarter to fund the game – please take a look!
Rogue State
You are the Glorious Leader who must hold onto power by maintaining the delicate balance between the interests of fundamentalists, capitalists, patriots and liberals while your brother, Farouk, consolidates power and influence with intentions to overthrow you. How will you manage affairs with your neighboring countries while ensuring you don’t attract too much negative attention from the Americans? Will you be a generous donor to the United Nations or an international pariah building nuclear weapons in secret? The choice is yours in this weird and quirky game.
Magbot
Magbot is a mix of classic platforming and modern physics. Magbot is a metroidvania style puzzle game with a focus on exploration rather than combat. The challenges come from overcoming a hostile environment and occasionally running into its powerful inhabitants.
Lowglow
Lowglow is a puzzle game with awesome physics and controls that offer multiple different ways of solving each level. The game breaks the traditional way of solving puzzles. Instead of having to find the one and only way to solve something you just need to catch the idea of the level and you are free to complete the level the way you feel like doing it.
Iconoclasts
Robin is a mechanic. She helps people keep their machines in order. Just one little problem: She is unauthorized. That makes her a sinner in Mother’s eyes.
The Lion’s Song
The Lion’s Song is a series of self-contained point & click short stories connected into an over-arching narrative. Set against the backdrop of early 20th century Austria every story shows a perspective on one of history’s most exciting times for being a creator. In each episode players will take on the role of a fictive person from the circles around famous Austrian visionaries such as Freud, Klimt and Schrödinger. Players will experience the days and hours prior to these persons’ greatest accomplishments – the last push, that last struggle.
Hengelight
Hengelight is set on an island alone in a world with no sun. The light comes from magical henges few and far between. Areas of ever-present darkness lie between the safety of the henges, and travel between them is dangerous. The darkness harbors vicious creatures, cultist light-haters, and evil itself. Even in the light, the world is far from hospitable. Being ambushed by highwaymen, attacked by a wolf, starving to death, or getting lost in a dungeon are all-too-real dangers.
The Adventures Of Fatman
You are the crime fighter for the city of Shadowlawn. Just when you’re complaining about how dull things have been, a supervillain named Toxicman is created from a botched act of corporate sabotage. It is up to you, then, to tear yourself away from food long enough to save the city from certain destruction. Oh alright, maybe just ONE more Twinkie first…
SpaceJammers
SpaceJammers is a multiplayer, Bullet Hell/Top Down Shooter/SHMUP rogue-like. Up to four players can play together on one screen, dodging bullets in slow motion in randomly generated levels. You play as a rock band of space pirates who fly around the galaxy in custom starfighters, shooting down and boarding space ships in order to grab the loot and fund your musical tour!
