Wyoming’s Wilderness Hits the Road This Spring With Firewatch on Nintendo Switch

When first released - way back in 2016 - a portable version of Firewatch seemed like an impossible dream. It'd never run properly on a 3DS after all, and at that point, no one owned a Vita anymore, leaving Campo Santo with... no viable options. Until Nintendo stepped up their game in 2017 and doubled down on the handheld market, that is. Oh, and on a related note: this spring, Switch owners will be able to hit the road with Wyoming's wilderness. Literally.

Firewatch Is Officially Xbox-bound, Complete With a Brand New Mode

Wyoming may not be at the top of anyone's list for vacation / getaway spots, but it is where the popular exploration-centric title Firewatch takes place. And soon, Xbox One fans will be able to go couch-gaming-comfort on its awesomeness. Not thereby saying that no console user owns a gaming rig, mind you, but... port is port and wider availability is rarely a bad thing. Also, the new mode? Yeah, timed Xbox One exclusive, so there's that too, for those with Microsoft's console under (or above) their TV.

Official Printable Firewatch Maps Are an Undeniable Increase of the Immersion Factor

Firewatch, love it or hate it, is certainly an interesting game. Or perhaps 'experience' is more accurate? Dunno. Doesn't matter. What does, is its focus on the Wyoming wilderness and your journey through it. An adventure which, should you so desire, is now (theoretically) doable without in-game navigation! Might sound crazy, but wandering around, assisted only by a printed map, actually adds a lot. If you can handle it…
