The time has come for up to four heroes to rise to the challenge, as Tabletop Simulator‘s latest addition requires both bravery and unique items, in a brave battle against an undead horde. Uncanny stuff, really. Oh, and Darkest Night being a cooperative experience and all, it goes without saying that the Necromancer is not a player-controlled entity. So bring a friend (or two, or three!), because… you’re gonna need them.
But before you get to duke it out with this ‘grand evil’, as it were, shades, skeletons, liches, and other wicked beings will have to be dealt with, and fast at that. See, with each passing turn, the Necromancer grows ever more powerful, darkness taking over one region after another, and once the monastery falls under its control, game over. A defeat for everyone involved, as it were. Everyone but the game itself that is, and no one wants that to happen.
So take up arms, brave party of 2-4 players, and gather three holy relics or alternatively, you know, take on you-know-who in direct combat. There might not be time for the former depending on what happens over the course of a game, but given the power of the Necromancer… the latter is a risky course at best. Dude has a bloody army at his disposal, after all, so relic collecting for a mighty spell is likely your best bet, more often than not.
Can you save the kingdom from darkness? Do you have the courage, the cunning, and the will to withstand the Necromancer and his forces? Strategize, plan and bring out the best of your abilities to end our Darkest Night!
Each hero comes with its own strengths (and potential weaknesses), so choose carefully and remember to work as a team, as it is really the only way to win, in Darkest Night. Search for equipment or track down sources of brand-new powers, as you go about uncovering the location of each relic, but keep in mind that the clock is ticking and that the forces of darkness are on a relentless march of doom and gloom. A march that has to be stopped!
Last but not least, to make the whole thing even more thrilling and/or risky, the With an Inner Light expansion is included, adding a brand new quest system, new methods of both item and power acquisition, as well as… wait for it… more playable classes. Quite groovy.
Note: while every player needs a copy of Tabletop Simulator to play Darkest Night, only the host needs the DLC.
Tabletop Simulator – Darkest Night is available from Steam, carrying a $6.99 price tag.
