This time the spotlight will be shining on Apple Jack 1&2, a colorful two-for-one platformer about a man (humanoid, anyway) who’s determined to rescue his beloved dog. Let’s see if we can’t help him/it escape the cold emptiness of Greenlight limbo, eh?
Apple Jack, a little man with an apple for a head, has been embarking on critically acclaimed Xbox adventures since 2010, and is now heading for PC in this splendid double pack! Ride enemies, pick them up and HURL them at each other. Dodge spikes, saw blades and huge boss enemies. Chain kills to create huge, screen-filling fruit explosions. Over 160 fiendish/head-scratching levels across 8 rural environments.
Well that guy definitely has my vote for ‘strangest protagonist ever’, and hey – “screen-filling fruit explosions”?! WHY is this game not greenlit yet, while so many uninspired and generic platformers somehow manages to fulfill the requirements in the blink of an eye? One look at that huge floating eye with vicious fangs should be enough to convince anyone, I’d say! Or How about being able to ride washing machines, of all things, or… how does a ‘Morph Ball apple’ move sound? Oh and pandas, because, pandas. How d’ya like them apples?
So riddle me this, dear reader: why is Apple Jack 1&2 still struggling to get through Greenlight? It’s been out for a while (since September, 2013), so availability certainly can’t be the reason. Might I recommend visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’, if you like what you see? Remember: your vote matters!
