Ever wondered what it would be like to traverse a magical forest as a mystical fox, one blessed with a seasonal manipulation ability? Well, even if you haven’t, Seasons after Fall looks like one helluva journey… and I’m not just talking about the art style either. Incredible animations, groovy background music, enticing puzzles built around the elements of each season – what more could one ask for, from the creators of Blocks That Matter and Tetrobot and Co.?
Seeing how the game is finally out, after “7 years of prototypes, cancellations, resurrections and hard work”, not a whole darn lot, that’s for sure. Feel the chill of winter as you freeze the environment, send things flying with strong winds during fall, breathe new life into dormant plants in summer and… okay so I got nothing for spring. But I’m sure you get the gist of what’s going on here: seasons define the protagonist’s powers, and you can switch between them at any time.
Discover a world brought to life by stunning hand-painted graphics and original music performed by a string quartet. Visit enchanted vistas and sceneries while the music, the mood, and the atmosphere change seamlessly with the seasons.
It isn’t all fun and games though, as you’re on a rather dire mission. One that requires you to figure out what’s happening to the forest, meet with each of the four seasonal guardians to acquire their powers, and eventually, right every wrong in this place. As for exactly how you accomplish this, well, that’s for Swing Swing Submarine to know, and for you to find out. Just remember, Seasons after Fall…
Seasons after Fall is available from Steam, priced at $14.99.
