My Brother Rabbit Creates a Surreal Fantasy World to Help an Ill Child Cope

In our world, clocks don't melt to the rhythm of passing time, mushrooms aren't giant and baobabs (a tree, essentially) don't float. Nowhere. It simply isn't a thing. But in My Brother Rabbit's imaginary world, created by the older brother of his ill sister, those and more can and will happen. Whether it's enough for the siblings to stay strong - in the real world - until the medication needed becomes available... remains to be seen. They will have the best kind of distraction during the wait, though.

Across the U.S. in 52 Hours, Come Spring: Tracks Have Been Laid For Train Jam 2019

How does travelling from Chicago to San Francisco with a bunch of strangers on a train with little to no internet access (outside of poor cell coverage) sound? Strange? Oh right, forgot to mention that you'll be making video games during the entire thing, that it'll span a total of some 52 hours, and that... it's a thing called Train Jam. A thing that's scheduled to return, come spring 2019. Groovy stuff.

Upcoming Amnesia: The Dark Descent Xbox One Release Also Brings Hard Mode to PC

Finally, the fabled day is almost upon us: come September 28, Amnesia: Collection will be on Xbox One, enabling fans of said console to experience the entire trilogy (Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and Justine). But that's not all we'll be getting on the 28th, as Frictional Games has an extra little treat in store for players on both Xbox and PC.

The Gardens Between Awaits With a Bittersweet Journey Through Time and Friendship

Childhood is incredibly important, and unfortunately also much too short. More often than not, it is gone before we truly had a chance to cherish it fully, memories being all that remain of a wondrous time. A time when friendship meant the world, grownups were almost an alien race, parents super annoying, video games the best thing, and television... the best friend. A time The Gardens Between's two protagonists get to relive through a rather emotional journey - one full of nostalgia, puzzles, time travel and relaxing music.

CrossCode Exits Early Access, Mute Protagonist, Intriguing Sci-Fi Story, Fast-Paced Combat in Tow

Don't let the above screenshot fool you. This is not your typical 16-bit-esque action game with slow physics and various other engine restrictions. Quite the opposite in fact, as CrossCode brings fast-paced combat and animations simply not possible on ye olde 16-bit console. Throw a rather lengthy story in an absolutely massive world on top of that, Zelda-esque dungeons and a wide variety of enemies to destroy, and you'll have an idea of what awaits in this stylish RPG (hint: a groovy time).

Go Fishing and Raise Baby Moths in HEARTBEAT While Maintaining Peace and Order

It all began so seemingly nice and simple for Eve Staccato, HEARTBEAT's protagonist, her grandfather asking for a favor. A simple errand. Nothing too major, and surely not the kind of thing that would mark the beginning of a grand adventure. Except... that's exactly what happened, and now this lil' conjurer is about to embark on what will be a "transcendent journey"; one of danger and joyful times in equal amounts, surely!

Apparition to Challenge Paranormal Investigators With Risky Investigations This Halloween

Being a paranormal investigator is never easy. Take all the problems a private investigator has and throw in the supernatural on top of that. Yup. Never easy, sometimes even quite... deadly. In Apparition, players are going to find out just how dangerous this line of work really is as they go exploring a spooky forest, armed with only a camera. Doesn't mean they'll be entirely defenseless, however.

Futuristic Racing Fans Rejoice: Distance’s Early Access Departure Brings Good Stuff

Nearly four years ago, Distance, Nitronic Rush successor, graced Steam with a neon-bathed Early Access launch. It was glorious, if a bit lacking, at the time (but that's Early Access for ya). Numerous updates and even more hours of hard work later, the groovy - and challenging - racer has finally reached 1.0, and with it, a slew of additional content. Doesn't mean Refract Studios will be moving onto a new project just yet, though.

More Than Ultra: Music-Driven SHMUP Beat Hazard 2 Is About to Enter Early Access

Many games already enable players to 'play their music' in one form or another - like Audiosurf which lets you race along a track with obstacles placed based on currently playing music, or the original Beat Hazard which generates enemies, power-ups and other things in a SHMUP environment, again, based on the current song. Oh, and this upcoming sequel thingie, Beat Hazard 2, is seemingly going to expand rather noticeably upon its precursor, with more of... everything. Very groovy.

Lamplight City Merges Steampunk and Point ‘n Click Adventuring With a World in Chaos

On the surface, Lamplight City is a great place - the Gateway to Vespuccia, the City of Air and Light, and so on. On the surface. Do a bit of digging however, and you'll discover a town riddled with crime, poverty and quite likely... any manner of political troubles. Basically, a town plunged deep into chaos; much like the life of one PI, Miles Fordham, the murder of his former partner still unsolved, still haunting him. Time to fix that.

Unavowed Might be the Best Pointy and Clicky Road to Salvation For Repenting Demons

Three years in the making, Wadjet Eye Games' latest point 'n click adventure is finally here, and I dare say Unavowed is looking like yet another masterpiece from the creator of the Blackwell saga (remember?). Much like the adventures of Joey and Rose, this too dabbles in the supernatural, its protagonist on the road to redemption after being possessed by a demon. A lot of bad things happened to most of New York during that, but now the time has finally come to make amends. Or... die trying.

Turn the Tables on the Dealer in Hand of Fate 2’s Modding Contest… Right Now!

It's been a while since choose-your-own-adventure RPG/deck-building hybrid, Hand of Fate 2, got its very own set of mod tools (remember?), and in the time since, many an odd player have been hard at work making all kinds of new fancy things for the game. Quite a few in fact, but... one can never have too much player-made content for an experience such at the one provided within this lovely sequel, so it is quite fortunate that its creator decided to unleash a modding contest upon its fans today!

Stylish Platformer Hollow Knight Set For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One In Voidheart Edition

It's been a long time coming, but soon, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will finally be able to experience the joy of getting crushed, as they attempt to navigate the treacherous terrain and overcome Hollow Knight's numerous obstacles (oh, and don't get me started on its many characters... all of which seem just a tad hostile). Or maybe you're among the few skilled enough to speedrun this stylish platformer? (Are you? Really?)

A Hat in Time DLC Wants You to Seal the Deal With Co-Op, a New Chapter and More

When last I covered the adorably cute platformer, A Hat in Time, actual money was involved... in the mapping contest. Not quite so with its Seal the Deal DLC; provided you grab it soon that is, as the developer has made it free temporarily. But while that's nice and all, what's actually in this mini-expansion? A lot actually, including... wait for it... split-screen co-op! Yeah. So groovy.

Every Cat and Dog is a Potential Suspect in Upcoming Murder Mystery Inspector Waffles

All is far from well in Cat Town, as one fateful evening, rich industrial Fluffy was found dead at his house. Did someone murder the poor cat or did he kill himself? No one knows, and unsurprisingly, this is where you come in. Step into the shoes of inspector Waffles and burn the midnight oil to solve this rather peculiar case. Oh and... there appears to be no way to actually reach the crime scene (wait, what?).

It Takes 2D to Down Tangos as Door Kickers: Action Squad Leaves Early Access

While there's no shortage of video games that puts you into the shoes of a SWAT team, most do opt for either a bird's eye view with a more strategic affair or they go first-person for a shooter-esque experience. Not so with Door Kickers: Action Squad as you'll be gunning down bad guys, rescuing hostages, maybe even disarm a bomb or two... in the second dimension! Groovy stuff.

The Warlock of Firetop Mountain: Goblin Scourge Edition Will be on the Switch… Soon!

When first we heard about how Tin Man Games' reimagining of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain was heading for Nintendo's latest console, back in May, details were scarce at best. I mean, the reveal was based on a brief tweet and a a picture, after all. That was it. But now the fabled (release) date is almost upon us, and with it, more information. Good stuff too, including a much too lengthy name (The Warlock of Firetop Mountain: Goblin Scourge Edition). So go ahead and turn to pag-- I mean, continue reading.
