By now, I'm sure you've played some racing game or other, and if you haven't, well, Mario Kart is pretty darn awesome, ya know? Not that it's anything like or remotely close to the awesomeness of Can't Drive This though. You won't find any blue shells or bullets with a name on them here though, but there will be explosions, should you drop below 20mph. Explosions which brings an immediate 'game over', of all things! Oh, and did I mention you have to navigate the road ahead as it is being built by one of your 'friends'?

You know that feeling when you just wake up and some omnipotent being tells you to do stuff? Yeah, probably not, because that'd mean you're nuts! Although in this case, it could also mean you're simply playing Redie, as that's how things kick off. No story or introduction. Just a mission with but a single objective: kill everyone... before they kill you. Oh, and that omnipotent being I mentioned, seems to take a hike after the tutorial. No idea where to, and I don't care. There's killing to do!

From the minion-summoning Abyss Lord to the beam-blasting Series EV2, cackling Gunwitch and last but not least, the fiery Lavamancer. Each hero comes with its own unique set of tools, and that holds true for the most recent, too - meet the Mystic! Oh, and a revamped campaign, of course. Mustn't forget that.

What happens when a bunch of ants hop onto the same server in Formicide? Explosions, death, carnage and utter mayhem, that's what! At least, I'm hoping that'll be the case, seeing how... well, that's pretty much what the game is about: blowing your enemies to smithereens (and beyond), Early Access or not. Oh, and in case you're wondering based on the above screenshot - no, it's not turn-based. This is a fast-paced real-time war, a bunch of ants locked in combat until only one team remains.

Work All Night, Sleep All Day: Lumberyard Beta 1.5 Brings a Slew of Changes

Feels like forever ago, even though it was just earlier this year, when Amazon decided to join the video game engine with the launch of their Lumberyard beta and time has definitely been kind to it. Well, time and of course, the group of people hard at work on improving every aspect, ensuring Unity, Unreal Engine, Game Maker, RPG Maker and so on, all get some serious competition. Which is exactly what beta 1.5 seems to bring, what with its rather large amount of changes, fixes, and who knows what else.

Ah, 1970s Italy. Definitely a time I wouldn't mind seeing more of in video games, provided they can put as interesting a narrative spin on it as Santa Ragione has done with Wheels of Aurelia. It was a crazy time period where one wrong word could put you behind bars, or you could - pretty much just as easily - get into political nonsense. Whatever floats your boat. This was the time for it. Chances are this piece of IF has all that and more too, what with sixteen different endings and all. Very groovy.

Four years, some months and a bunch of days ago, Wormwood Studios showed what a pixellated post-human world might look like in their pointy and clicky Primordia (remember?). An amazing experience full of laughter, tears, and all that good stuff. Oh and puzzles, because ya know those darn things are a genre stable. But that was then, this is now, and the game just got more awesome. How? It's available on the App Store, that's how! Very groovy. Unless you're an Android user, in which case, not so much.

Nelly Cootalot has come a long way since her early days, that first adventure - Spoonbeaks Ahoy! - dating back to 2007. Less so for Spoonbeaks Ahoy!... although that's about to change, remastered version recently announced and all. Arr? Arr indeed.

In most games that revolve around puzzle solving, you're on a set path. A path which will take you from a to b, maybe with a detour through 1 or 2, but the road is still pretty much set in stone. Not quite so with Metrico+, as here, you'll have to... carve your own... road. Metaphorically speaking, anyway. Or maybe it is actually a trip from a to b? Here's the thing though: you'll have to take it step by step, experimenting, exploring, failing and then trying something else, bit by bit, to progress. Yeah.
